What Thread Count Should You Buy?

   .
When buying linen, does thread count make all the difference?
The truthful answer is no. Thread count is only one way of
measuring the quality of bedlinen. The other important factors
include the type and quality of cotton, the fabric weaving style, the
quality of sewing especially embroidery, and the finishing and
 stitching standard of the factory.

What is Thread Count?

Thread count simply refers to how many threads are woven (both
ways) into each square inch of fabric. It indicates how "fine" the
fabric texture is. A higher thread count usually means a softer and
more delicate fabric, and a lower thread count will give you a more
 durable fabric.

Which thread count is best for each bedroom?

·       Kid's and Maid's rooms - 180 to 200 TC
Soft and lightweight, offering a comfortable balance for those who
prefer breathable bedlinen for everyday use, usually recommended
for kids bedding. It's a strong & long-lasting fabric – as kids tend to
kick, jump on and play in their linen! If you want an “easy care”
option that you don’t have to iron, you might consider a
 polyester/cotton blend fabric.

·       Main bedrooms & Guest rooms - 200-300 TC
200TC Percale bedlinen is crisp and breathable, ideal for warm
climates or a lightweight feel. Whilst 300TC Sateen bedlinen is great
for guest rooms, as it's soft and silky. You want your guest to have
nice linen, but you may not wish to spend too much.

·       Luxury master bedrooms - 300-500 TC
Smooth, soft, and versatile, striking a balance between luxury and
practicality. It’s generally recommended for the sheets & pillowcases
that a husband and wife sleep on.

·       Super Luxury bedrooms - 800-1000+ TC
Dense, silky, and perfect for those who prefer ultimate softness and
luxury. If you like a “luxury feel” then you can choose this option.
You might choose Egyptian or Supima cotton for the best of the
 best high thread count sheets.

Remember the higher the thread count, the thinner the cotton
threads are. So "extra-fine" "high thread count" sheets will require
more careful washing - i.e. wash any fabrics over 500 thread count
separately, and not with any items with zips or "hook & eye"
fasteners, and don't overfill your washing machine.
